Nobody is asking the freed-up time question

Most AI pilots end with a slide saying "we saved 12 hours". Then what?

Almost every AI rollout I sit in on ends the same way. Time was freed up. Some number gets quoted. Nobody asks what happened to that time, and nobody asks what should have happened to it.

The honest answer in most cases is that the time went back into the same low-value activity. The team got slightly less stressed about something that didn't matter, and the strategic objective the work was supposed to ladder to is exactly as unmoved as it was before.

The conversation I keep trying to start: AI didn't fail your team. The reallocation didn't happen. That's a different problem, with a different fix.
